The Intergenerational Family of God

Tribe DNA Series Conclusion - Intergenerational Family

  • Final message in 5-week series on church DNA/culture

  • Five-fold ministry framework integrated throughout:

    1. Apostolic - demanding focus on Jesus as the tip of the spear

    2. Prophetic - safety and acuracy in community-wide prophetic ministry

    3. Evangelistic - giving God your unconditional β€œyes” for His destiny in your life

    4. Pastoral - father-hearted, religion-free care for the body

    5. Teachers - community approach to "putting flesh on Scripture" is greatest teacher

Scripture Teaching: Luke 24 (Road to Emmaus)

  • Key insight: Jesus explained Scripture on the road but became recognizable during common meal

  • Two disciples walking to Emmaus, sad and unaware they’re speaking with resurrected Christ

  • Jesus taught from Moses through prophets but remained unrecognized

  • Recognition moment came when Jesus broke bread in intergenerational household setting (likely)

  • Scripture fleshed out in community creates greatest teaching impact

  • Fire analogy: needs three generations like three logs to start sustainable fire

    • Requires breathing room for Holy Spirit

    • Generations must maintain close proximity to keep fire burning
